Jacivânia dos Santos Silva, 53 years old, was sentenced to 23 years and 4 months in prison for killing her own daughter through strangulation with a computer cable. The sentence was handed down by the Brazilian justice system.

The crime occurred in May 2023, when the mother murdered her daughter using a computer cable as a weapon. The method used was strangulation, which led to the victim's death.

The case happened in Brazil and generated great repercussions due to the gravity of the act and the degree of kinship between the perpetrator and the victim. The mother was tried and found guilty of the crime.
