Trump promised to put humans on the Moon by the end of his term, during a ceremony honoring the crew of the Artemis II mission, which flew around the Moon in April of this year. The event celebrated the astronauts who participated in this historic mission.
On that occasion, Trump signed an executive order for the creation of the Space Academy, reinforcing his ambitious plans for the United States space program. The measure aims to strengthen training and development of professionals for future space missions.
In addition to the promise to return to the Moon, the president announced plans for a Mars mission scheduled for 2028. The objective demonstrates the intention to expand the American presence in space beyond Earth's natural satellite.
