The Alto Alegre Escolão, a school located in Teresina, in Piauí, may be transformed into a housing complex with 94 apartments through the Minha Casa Minha Vida program. The school building has been inactive for some time, which opened space for discussion about the future of the property.

State Deputy Francisco Limma, from the PT party, requested the State Government to transfer the school building. The legislator is working with state and federal governments to make the conversion of the property into affordable housing viable.

The project's goal is to take advantage of the existing physical structure of the school to create housing units, contributing to the region's housing policy. The political coordination seeks to secure the necessary resources from the federal government for the execution of the construction.

Minha Casa Minha Vida is the federal government's main housing program, aimed at building homes for low-income families. The conversion of inactive schools into housing complexes is a strategy that aims to optimize public resources and meet the housing demand in the city.
