Trump promises that Humanity will return to step on the Moon before the end of his term

US President Donald Trump promised that Humanity will return to step on the Moon before the end of his second term, in 2028. The promise was made today, during a public statement about the space plans of the administration.

The last time humans stepped on the lunar surface was in 1972, with the Apollo 17 mission, which means that, if fulfilled, the promise would represent a return to the Moon after more than half a century of human absence from Earth's natural satellite.

Trump did not specify details on how he intends to achieve this goal nor which partners or resources would be involved in the mission. The promise comes in the context of a renewed international interest in lunar exploration, with several countries and private companies investing in space programs.
