The bill was sent to the Constitutional Court at the request of the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who decided to submit the legislation to preventive constitutional review before deciding on its enactment.
With the unanimous validation of the eleven provisions analyzed, the bill can now proceed through its normal course, with the final decision on whether to enact it or opt for a veto remaining with the President of the Republic.
