Workers in the hotel sector from various regions of the country are protesting against the wage freeze. The demonstrations are taking place in locations such as Figueira da Foz, Óbidos, Pombal and Viseu, thus covering a vast geographical area.
The workers involved are those who receive the minimum wage in the hospitality sector. These professionals demand an end to the bargaining freeze with AHRESP, the Association of Hotels, Restaurants and Similar Establishments of Portugal, which is the entity that represents them in collective bargaining.
The situation reflects an impasse in salary negotiations between workers and the sector's association, with employees demanding improvements in their remuneration conditions.
