BCP invests more than 16.1 million in own shares under the share buyback program and now holds 1.05% of the capital

Banco Comercial Português (BCP), led by Miguel Maya, acquired more than 14.4 million own shares between August 24-28, in a total investment of approximately 16.16 million euros. The operations were carried out on the regulated market Euronext Lisbon through financial intermediary J.P. Morgan SE, totaling 14,472,989 ordinary shares over five trading sessions.

During the week, weighted average prices per share ranged between 1.1035 euros, recorded on Monday, and 1.1193 euros, reached on Friday. The highest daily purchase volume occurred on Thursday, when 3,701,644 shares were acquired.

With these most recent acquisitions, BCP now holds a total of 156,169,904 own shares, representing 1.05% of its share capital, accounting for a cumulative global investment of 165,151,939 euros since the beginning of the program. The Share Buyback Program, announced on May 27, 2026 and starting on June 4, is scheduled to end on December 4, 2026, with an approved maximum value of 407.4 million euros.

BCP led the gains on the PSI this Friday with a rise of 1.17%, reaching an all-time high of 1.12 euros, following the European banking sector.

O Banco Comercial Português (BCP) adquiriu mais de 14,4 milhões de ações próprias entre 24 e 28 de agosto, num investimento total de cerca de 16,16 milhões de euros, elevando para 1,05% a sua participação no capital social, informou hoje a instituição liderada por Miguel Maya.

Em comunicado enviado à Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários (CMVM), o banco detalha que, no âmbito do seu Programa de Recompra de Ações Próprias, adquiriu no mercado regulamentado Euronext Lisbon um total de 14.472.989 ações ordinárias ao longo das últimas cinco sessões bolsistas.

As operações foram executadas através do intermediário financeiro J.P. Morgan SE.

Durante a semana, os preços médios ponderados por ação situaram-se entre os 1,1035 euros (registados na segunda-feira, 24 de agosto) e os 1,1193 euros (alcançados esta sexta-feira, 28 de agosto). O maior volume diário de compra ocorreu na quinta-feira, 27 de agosto, dia em que foram adquiridas 3.701.644 ações.

Com as mais recentes aquisições, o BCP contabiliza um acumulado de 156.169.904 ações próprias adquiridas desde o início do programa, representando um investimento global de 165.151.939 euros. O banco passa assim a deter um total de 156.169.904 ações próprias, representativas de 1,05% do seu capital social.

O Programa de Recompra de Ações Próprias do BCP tinha sido anunciado a 27 de maio de 2026 e teve o seu início a 4 de junho de 2026, estando previsto terminar a 4 de dezembro de 2026.

O valor máximo global aprovado para o programa de recompra de ações (share buyback) do BCP é de 407.458.786,00 euros (407,4 milhões de euros).

O BCP liderou esta sexta-feira os ganhos do PSI com uma subida de 1,17%, para um máximo histórico de 1,12 euros, acompanhando o setor da banca europeia.
