The Maritime Police and the GNR carried out a joint inspection operation targeting fishing and related activities. The action took place on multiple fronts, covering the sea off the south coast of São Miguel, as well as the fish market in Vila Franca do Campo and the island's roads.
The objective of the operation was to control and inspect fishing and related activities, ensuring compliance with the legislation in force. The authorities aimed to guarantee the regularity of operations both in the maritime and terrestrial environments.
The operation demonstrates the coordination effort between the two security forces to ensure surveillance and compliance with the norms in the fishing sector in the Azores.
