Family demands effective prison sentence for officer who shot Odair

The family of Odair Moniz, shot dead by a Public Security Police (PSP) officer, has appealed the suspended sentence handed down to the officer. The family demands that the officer serve an effective prison sentence for the crime.

Odair Moniz was shot dead by the PSP officer, in an incident that led to a court case. The court decided to impose a suspended sentence on the officer, meaning he would not serve prison time as long as he respected certain conditions.

Odair Moniz's relatives do not agree with the court's decision and decided to appeal the sentence. The family believes the sentence should be effective, not suspended.

The appeal was filed so that justice would be stricter with the officer responsible for Odair Moniz's death. The family hopes the appellate court will change the decision and impose an effective prison sentence.
