The family of Odair Moniz has appealed the suspended sentence imposed on the PSP agent who shot him, causing his death. The police officer was convicted by a court to a suspended sentence, but the family members do not agree with this decision.

The family is now requesting effective prison time for the agent, suspension of duties with the PSP, and higher compensation than what was initially awarded. These are the main demands of the appeal filed.

Odair Moniz was shot and killed by a PSP agent. The shooting resulted in the man's death, giving rise to a legal process that culminated in the police officer's conviction.
