Brazil invests increasingly in public security, with historically much of these resources directed toward physical and ostentatious apparatus, such as cameras, patrol cars, and equipment. While this foundation is important and remains necessary, most crimes remain unsolved in the country. According to the Instituto Sou da Paz, approximately 6 in every 10 homicides are not clarified in Brazil.
The current bottleneck is not the lack of data, but rather the ability to transform the enormous volume of available information into effective responses. It is in this context that artificial intelligence begins to play a transformative role in Brazilian public security.
A practical example of this technology occurred in July, when a robbery at a jewelry store in a shopping mall in Goiânia was solved in less than 24 hours with artificial intelligence support. Three suspects were arrested in the Surrounding Area of the Federal District and part of the stolen material was recovered.
The company Pax, formerly known as Paladium since 2024, emerged with the goal of creating a Brazilian technology for public security from scratch. The company adopted the Pax brand in March, proposing this new approach that combines artificial intelligence with the needs of the security sector in Brazil.
