At least two Frankfurt Airport employees die after contracting malaria

At least two Frankfurt Airport employees died after contracting malaria. The Robert Koch Institute confirmed that this is a case of airport malaria, a rare form of the disease transmitted by mosquitoes in airport areas. This was the last case recorded in Germany in 2023. Airport malaria occurs when infected mosquitoes are accidentally transported to areas where the disease is not endemic, such as international airports.

Tractor rollover causes death of an 83-year-old man

An 83-year-old man died this Saturday in Água Revés, in the municipality of Valpaços, following the rollover of a tractor. The victim was trapped under the vehicle and died at the scene.
