The Prime Minister of Pakistan ordered the immediate suspension and opening of criminal proceedings against eight senior officials, after the release of the preliminary report on the fire in an Islamabad hospital that killed 14 newborns. Among those suspended are the executive director of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and the head of the Neonatology Department. The fire broke out on Wednesday morning at PIMS, in Islamabad, the country's capital. The Prime Minister acted based on the preliminary report on the incident.
