Nuno Melo advances with civil complaint against Ventura and Frazão in September

Expresso28 August 2026 at 16:53

The Minister of Defense, Nuno Melo, confirmed that he will proceed with a civil complaint for defamation against the deputies André Ventura and Pedro Frazão, both from the Chega party. The process will be filed at the end of the judicial recess, that is, in September.

The legal action arises in response to videos published on social media by Ventura and Frazão, in which the two deputies made corruption insinuations involving business in the Defense area. According to the minister, these accusations were based on false information.

Nuno Melo stated that the allegations made by Chega's leaders were groundless and aimed to tarnish his image and the reputation of the Ministry of Defense, without any factual basis to support them.
