An unusual accident blocked traffic on Highway 105 near the city of Lynwood, California, in the late afternoon of last Tuesday (8/25). A truck loaded with pallets of cheese puffs overturned on the road, spreading approximately 120 packages with thousands of units right after 5 PM.
Images recorded by the Citizen app captured the enormous quantity of snacks spread across the westbound lanes. According to the California Highway Patrol, drivers even stopped their cars in the middle of the highway to loot containers that withstood the impact and didn't burst.
The main lanes were fully reopened to traffic after the cleanup crews' work, which managed to remove all the spilled cargo from the asphalt. This type of case is not so rare, because in 2020, in the state of Maryland, a truck with nine tons of cheese puffs also overturned in the Capital Beltway area.
