Residents of the Quinta da Maia area, in Coimbra, are expressing growing concern about the state of the pond at Rotunda dos Patos. The main complaints are related to water turbidity, the presence of bad smells and the proliferation of mosquitoes in the surrounding area.
The situation has been generating indignation among local residents, who point to a significant deterioration in the pond's conditions. The lack of adequate maintenance and the absence of interventions by the competent authorities are some of the concerns raised by the community.
The pond at Rotunda dos Patos, which is part of an urban area of Coimbra, should function as a leisure space and environmental enhancement for the neighborhood. However, the current conditions are driving residents away and compromising the quality of life in the area.
The local authorities have not yet presented a schedule of interventions to solve the problems identified by the residents, leaving the community waiting for solutions to recover the space.
