Nepal: Provisional death toll rises to 584 on both sides of the border

The toll from Wednesday's devastating flash floods in Nepal rose to 579 dead, while 1,924 people remained missing, announced the emergency management authority today.

The catastrophe affected areas along the border between Nepal and India, with a high number of victims in both nations.

Authorities continue to carry out rescue and humanitarian assistance operations in the most affected regions, while work continues to find the missing.
