Old professions transformed into living statues

Jornal da Bairrada28 August 2026 at 16:02

A Living Statue Festival arrives at the spa town of Luso on Sunday, September 6th, featuring national and international artists. The event will transform streets and public spaces into a large open-air stage.

Emídio Navarro Street and Luso's Lake will serve as stages for the artists, where immobility becomes the main acting tool. Visitors will be able to contemplate characters that come to life through static performances.

The festival will have a great focus on old professions, which will be represented through living statues. This appreciation of traditional professions promises to be the highlight of this year's edition.
