Flamengo closes sale of Gonzalo Plata to Dynamo Moscow, from Russia

oglobo28 August 2026 at 14:26

Flamengo closed the sale of striker Gonzalo Plata to Dynamo Moscow, Russia. The agreement for the Ecuadorian was finalized in the last few hours, and the red-and-black side will receive up to 12 million euros (about R$72 million), with 10 million euros fixed and an additional 2 million in bonuses for targets to be achieved.

With the transfer advanced, Plata is already organizing to travel to Russia this week and will not face Botafogo on Sunday, at the Maracanã, for the 25th round of the Brasileirão. The Ecuadorian's last game for Flamengo was the 2-1 loss to Cruzeiro, last Saturday, also valid for the national championship.

Plata was signed by Flamengo in 2024 for 9.1 million dollars (R$51.9 million) from Al-Sadd, of Qatar, and was with the Ecuadorian national team at the last World Cup. The striker arrived at the club with expectations of strengthening the attack, but now leaves Rio de Janeiro after just a few months.

Flamengo's board is already thinking about a replacement for the player and is racing against the clock to close the deal. The transfer window in Brazil is open until September 11, and Conmebol's deadline for registrations in South American competitions is also approaching.
