The reduction of the Catumbela river flow is affecting water supply and production in the Angolan province of Benguela. The situation will require activating a plan to minimize the impacts resulting from this water scarcity.
The Provincial Water and Sanitation Company of Benguela (EPASB-EP) issued a communiqué informing that it is implementing the Dry Season Maneuver Plan. This plan aims to optimize the distribution of available water and minimize the impacts of the reduction in water availability.
According to the communiqué, the situation is due to the current dry season, which has caused a significant decrease in available water. The company responsible for managing water resources in the province made this decision to address the effects of the prolonged drought.
