MobiAve target of restructuring from September 10

Jornal Opinião Pública (Vila Nova de Famalicão)28 August 2026 at 12:25

The MobiAve public transport network will be subject to restructuring in Vila Nova de Famalicão from September 10. The measure was approved unanimously at the municipal executive meeting on August 27 and aims to adapt the offer to the population's needs after one year of operation.

The readjustment involved the elimination of 721 schedules with low demand, corresponding to trips with fewer than five passengers, and the creation or adaptation of 712 schedules. The Councilor for Public Transport and Mobility, Augusto Lima, guaranteed that the suppression will not leave the population without alternatives, since the entire territory will continue to be covered. The adjustment was dictated by real usage data, made possible by the digitization of the process.

The focus of the new operation is on the industrial hubs of the municipality, which will absorb 301 of the new schedules. In the southern zone, the reinforcement covers the areas of Lousado, Ribeirão, Vilarinho, São Cosme, Vermoim, Pousada de Saramagos and Joane. The municipality also intends to promote awareness actions within the companies themselves with the workers.

In the city center, the urban circuit "Voltas" will no longer travel along the bypass, instead taking an exclusively city route. On Wednesdays, during the weekly market, the lines coming from the north will be able to get closer to the municipal market, instead of going directly to the bus station, at schedules between 9:30 AM and 4:30 PM.

CIA director's visit to Moscow raises speculation about NATO and peace negotiations

The unannounced visit by CIA Director John Ratcliffe to Moscow last Tuesday sparked intense diplomatic speculation, with Donald Trump confirming the presence of the US intelligence chief in the Russian capital. According to The Wall Street Journal, Ratcliffe is said to have delivered a preemptive warning to Moscow against any aggressive action against NATO countries, while also addressing tensions in the Middle East and Iran's influence. The White House downplayed the trip, but the convergence of sensitive topics indicates a moment of high strategic sensitivity. Moscow, through Dmitry Peskov, rejected reports of a NATO ultimatum, accusing European governments of hostility. Trump reinforced that he had maintained "good conversations" with Putin and assured that the Kremlin does not intend to attack territories covered by Article 5, while European intelligence services confirmed there are no signs of Russian offensive preparations against the EU or NATO.

Why Brazil doesn't have an atomic bomb, as proposed by Renan Santos?

Brazil has never developed an atomic bomb despite having advanced technologically in the nuclear sector. The main reason is the absence of a concrete external threat that would justify the enormous investment needed to create a nuclear weapons program. Additionally, the high costs of development, maintenance, and the international diplomatic consequences made the proposal politically unviable. The article also mentions Renan's position on the topic.
