The decision was made at a situation committee meeting held on Friday, which was presided over by the president of the government, Pedro Sánchez. This meeting allowed defining the spaces that will be used to house the migrants who are on the streets of Ceuta.
The agreement will allow increasing the available reception spots, which constitutes a fundamental step to proceed with the identifications of migrants. With greater reception capacity, the authorities will be able to initiate expulsion proceedings or, when appropriate, asylum processes.
