U.Porto leads Portuguese universities in Shanghai 2026 ranking

The University of Porto once again led the Portuguese representation in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), appearing in the 2026 edition of this ranking in the same position as the University of Lisbon.

Both Portuguese universities appear positioned between the 301st and 400th places worldwide, maintaining the national representation in the international ranking.

The ARWU is described in the article as the oldest and one of the most prestigious and comprehensive international rankings of higher education institutions.

This result maintains the University of Porto's prominent position among the leading Portuguese universities in the global academic landscape.
