The Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, appeared before Congress to give an account of the situation in Ceuta. During his speech, he claimed the Spanishness of Ceuta and Melilla, stating that these cities are part of Spain's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Albares stated that the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla, as well as their stability and prosperity, constitute an absolute priority for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Union, and Cooperation.

The minister also emphasized that the stability and prosperity of these cities are equally important for Spain and for Europe as a whole.

Albares described the situation experienced in Ceuta since the last days of July as a "drama," highlighting the gravity of the events that prompted his appearance before Congress.
