AI is already used by 84% of Portuguese workers

SAPO28 August 2026 at 09:09

The use of Artificial Intelligence at work in Portugal has grown significantly, with 84% of Portuguese workers already using this technology. This value represents an increase of 19 percentage points compared to the previous year.

However, despite this high number of individual users, the integration of Artificial Intelligence in organizations continues to be much slower. Portuguese companies are not keeping pace with the adoption rate observed among workers individually.

This disparity between personal use and organizational implementation suggests that, although professionals are adopting AI tools on their own initiative, business structures have yet to develop integrated strategies to incorporate these technologies systematically into their work processes.
