Deputy Filipe Sousa, from Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP), requested priority parliamentary hearings to scrutinize the Economic-Financial Study on the regular maritime connection for passengers and cargo between Madeira and the Continent.
The study in question was requested by the Instituto da Mobilidade e dos Transportes, with the objective of evaluating the viability of a permanent maritime connection between Madeira and the Portuguese mainland.
According to the JPP deputy, the study constitutes a relevant contribution to the debate on the connectivity of the Autonomous Region of Madeira. However, Filipe Sousa pointed out that the document presents assumptions and limitations that need to be properly clarified before any decision is made.
