The CIA director traveled to Moscow with the objective of transmitting a message, not to do tourism nor to negotiate. This position was expressed by Colonel José Carmo, military specialist at CNN Portugal, who commented on the visit.
Colonel Carmo analyzed the new Russian guarantee that it will not attack NATO territory, in the context of this visit by the CIA director to the Russian capital. The trip thus comes at a time of tension between the West and Russia, with the apparent objective of transmitting a direct warning.
