Abem brings free medications to 40 people

Diário de Coimbra28 August 2026 at 08:45

The Abem program is making free medications available to about 40 people in economic and social need. This initiative comes within the scope of a partnership established to support these citizens for a period of one year.

Through this collaboration, beneficiaries can acquire the medications they need at no cost, relieving significant financial pressure on families in vulnerable situations.

The number of people covered by this support reaches four dozen, representing a significant group of individuals who, otherwise, could have difficulties in accessing essential medical treatments.

The duration of the program is set for one year, during which participants can count on this support for acquiring the medications necessary for their health and well-being.

Middle East: Israeli army invades Syria and fires projectiles 50 km from the capital

The Israeli army again invaded Syrian territory in the Quneitra province, firing two projectiles that fell on agricultural land about 50 kilometers from Damascus, without causing injuries. The troops advanced from a base in Tel al-Ahmar to the village of Bariqa, with the attack being confirmed by the Syrian state broadcaster SANA. Syria condemned the Israeli actions and called on the international community to take measures to stop the "repeated violations," while Israel maintains military positions in the country since the fall of Bashar al-Assad at the end of 2024. The attack comes days after Israel Katz visited Israeli troops in southern Lebanon and a week after an Israeli bombardment of the Abu Duhur air base.
