Flamengo, after selling striker Gonzalo Plata to Dynamo Moscow for about R$ 72 million to cover a deficit of R$ 33.8 million recorded in the first half, now targets the signing of Luiz Henrique, also from Zenit, through a paired operation — meaning a player swap that avoids direct money transfer. The strategy benefits from financial restrictions imposed on Russian clubs by global economic sanctions, repeating the model already used by the club in the sale of Carrascal.
The 22-year-old Australian central defender, signed from Parma for around 20 million euros, made his Benfica debut coming on in the final minutes of the trip to Denmark.
