Visit of Japanese parliamentarians to Beijing marked by "heated" exchanges

SAPO Notícias28 August 2026 at 04:48

A group of Japanese parliamentarians visited Beijing in an attempt to re-establish contacts with China. The visit, however, did not produce significant results.

According to one of the group's members, there were "many heated exchanges of words" during the meetings. The comment suggests that the negotiations were tense.

The visit was marked by little progress, according to reports. The conversations apparently focused on delicate issues between the two countries.

This episode illustrates the difficulties that Japan and China face in current diplomatic dialogue.
