Public Prosecutor's Office records 16 sexual assaults during Ceuta crisis

The Spanish Public Prosecutor's Office registered 16 cases of sexual assault during the migration crisis in Ceuta at the end of July, involving 17 victims, the majority minors. The data was released by Spain's Attorney General, Teresa Peramato, during a visit to the Spanish autonomous city located in North Africa.

According to the latest report from the Public Prosecutor's Office in Ceuta, of the 17 victims identified in the 16 cases of sexual assault, 16 are minors. The assaults reportedly occurred during the period when thousands of migrants arrived in the Spanish city of Ceuta.

Teresa Peramato traveled to Ceuta to assess the situation and meet with local authorities about these cases and other issues related to the migration crisis that affected the region during that period.
