Opposition works to sabotage Lula's electoral gains with 6x1 Constitutional Amendment Proposal

The Brazilian opposition is devising a strategy to prevent President Lula from gaining electoral benefits from the constitutional amendment proposal to end the 6x1 work schedule and the maintenance of the repeal of the small package tax. After the pact between Lula and the presidents of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, the opposition is trying to buy time with an alternative constitutional amendment proposal by Senator Rogério Marinho (PL-RN), which loosens negotiation rules between employers and workers. However, opposition senators recognize that voting against ending the 6x1 schedule may displease a significant portion of worker voters, with the vote expected to pass by a wide margin in the Senate.
