The GNR managed to recover a stolen vehicle that had been used in two jewelry store robberies in the Lisbon area. The suspects fled the scene, but left a clue inside the vehicle that allowed the GNR to track it down. The car in question had been stolen a week earlier in Almada, in the Setúbal district.

Six arrested in Sintra for alleged drug trafficking network

The Judicial Police arrested six people, aged between 21 and 44, in Sintra, following nine house searches that allowed the dismantling of an alleged drug trafficking network that had been operating for at least two years. The investigation, conducted by the National Unit for Combating Drug Trafficking, revealed an organized criminal structure dedicated to the acquisition, preparation and sale of drugs to consumers in neighborhoods on the outskirts of Sintra. Approximately 2,500 individual doses of cocaine, hashish and MDMA, two firearms, money and two vehicles were seized. The detainees will be brought before a judge for their first hearing.

Association reports pollution in the Cáster river after discharge

The association Friends of Cáster reported a pollution discharge in the Cáster river, with the Municipality of Ovar, the GNR and the APA going to the site to investigate. However, the heavy rains and high river flows prevented definitive conclusions about the origin of the polluting discharge.
