Two men have been arrested in Angola on suspicion of killing and feeding on six people who had been reported missing in recent years in Bié province, the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) reported.

Detran finds stolen engine and arrests junkyard owner during inspection in Jacarepaguá

Agents from the Dismantling Directorate of Detran RJ, with support from the Military Police and DRFA, carry out operation Desmonte at a complex of workshops in Colônia Juliano Moreira, in Jacarepaguá, and find a stolen engine at a junkyard. The owner of the establishment, who already had a criminal record, was cited and arrested in the act without the right to bail. Of the three establishments inspected, two were shut down for operating without the mandatory accreditation from Detran RJ for vehicle dismantling.

Statue of Dona Ivone Lara stolen months ago is found in parking lot in Méier

The statue of composer and samba artist Dona Ivone Lara, stolen months ago from Bosque Dona Ivone Lara in Engenho de Dentro, in Rio's North Zone, was found in a parking lot in the neighborhood of Méier. The piece was located during an inspection carried out with Águas do Rio and Rio Águas on Rua Baronesa de Uruguaiana. After being recovered, the statue was returned to the Instituto Municipal Nise da Silveira, which will be responsible for reinstalling the sculpture in the grove named after the samba artist.
