Rapporteur presents favorable opinion on ending the 6x1 schedule

Reporter Omar Aziz presented a favorable report on ending the 6x1 work schedule, rejecting 12 amendments and without changes to the text approved by the Chamber. The report will be voted on in the Senate's Constitution and Justice Committee next Wednesday. The constitutional amendment proposal reduces the maximum weekly work hours from 44 to 40 hours, with a daily limit of 8 hours, guaranteeing two days of rest per week, one of which is preferably on Sundays. The adaptation will be gradual: 42 hours two months after promulgation and 40 hours one year later. Salary reduction is prohibited.
Paulo Raimundo accused the Government of "throwing mud at the wall" regarding the promise not to touch Social Security during this legislation, considering that promise "is worth nothing".
