El Periódico Mediterráneo - General27 August 2026 at 16:16
The Spanish Supreme Court issued a ruling in favor of a civil guard who was pardoned, ordering Google to stop indexing outdated information about his judicial history in search results. The decision advances jurisprudence on the right to digital forgetting in Spain, establishing that personal information that has become obsolete or inadequate should not continue appearing in search engines, and that what was lawful may cease to be so over time.
