PovUs. More than a folklore festival, a celebration of cultures

The International Folklore Festival of Leiria returns on Saturday, August 29, bringing international groups from Costa Rica, Lithuania and Brazil, as well as national participation with a rancho from Mortágua and the organizer, Rancho da Região de Leiria, which will have a scheduled encounter with the NoRitmo school. The event goes beyond a simple folklore festival, representing a celebration of cultures.

Horse Fair returns to Estoi with five days of equestrian tradition and entertainment

The XXIII Horse Fair takes place from September 2 to 6 in Estoi, Faro, bringing together over five days equestrian events, dressage demonstrations, equestrian baptisms, parades, folklore, live music and gastronomy. The event includes competition driving, vaulting, the IX Regional Dressage Cup, the Miguel Fonseca Equestrian Gala and performances by artists such as David Brito, Xutos & Pontapés, Irmãos Verdades and Micaela. The organization is the responsibility of the Equestrian Brotherhood of Estoi.

Festival do Rio announces selected films for Première Brasil 2026; check out the list

The Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival announced this Thursday (27) the selected films for Premiere Brasil 2026, a showcase dedicated entirely to national cinema. In its 28th edition, the event will screen 101 Brazilian productions, between feature films and short films, after the curatorial committee watched 1,500 registered titles. The main competition showcase, of feature fiction films, features 45 films competing for the Redeemer Trophy. Festival do Rio 2026 takes place between October 1st and 11th.

Machico Classic Car Fest brings together 170 classic vehicles next Sunday

Machico will host next Sunday, August 30, the 9th consecutive edition of the 'Machico Classic Car Fest', an event that brings together 170 classic and pre-classic vehicles up to 1993. The exhibition is organized by the 'Domingo Clássigo Madeira' group, with the support of the Machico Parish Council.
