Director of PJ reported for lying in court

The director of the Judicial Police, Carlos Cabreiro, has been denounced to the Attorney General for crimes of false testimony and abuse of power, in a process involving hacker Rui Pinto and the "Football Leaks" case. The denunciation raises suspicions that the PJ recorded a conversation without judicial authorization, in a process that continues to generate controversy in the Portuguese judicial system.

Driver of hit-and-run in Albufeira remanded in custody

The 35-year-old driver who ran over 16 people in the Oura area, in Albufeira, was placed in preventive detention after judicial interrogation. The incident occurred around 3:00 AM on Tuesday on a nightlife street, leaving 16 injured, two in serious condition, including two GNR military officers. The driver, who was on vacation in the city, was arrested after fleeing from authorities and had an alcohol level of 1.29 g/l, having been charged with the crimes of aggravated assault, driving under the influence of alcohol, and dangerous driving.

GNR rescues weakened bird of prey

The Republican National Guard collected a weakened bird of prey that was found by a citizen in the industrial area of Gouveia.
