Crowdfunding to help Kabuto, jiu-jitsu athlete who suffered serious injury in Paraná, exceeds R$ 500,000

A crowdfunding campaign organized by the wife of athlete Kabuto (Willian Masuda), a black belt in jiu-jitsu, has already raised more than R$500,000 to help with his recovery, with an initial goal of R$650,000. The athlete suffered a serious spinal cord trauma during Super Pro Jiu-Jitsu 2026, in Londrina (PR), lost movement and sensation below the chest after being hit by the "pile driver" move, a banned move in the sport. He is in the ICU, but clinically stable and breathing without the help of machines.
