Operation arrests police officers for supplying weapons and ammunition to Curicica militia and TCP; MPRJ points to alliance between groups

Twenty people, including two military police officers, were denounced by Gaeco of MPRJ for being part of nuclei linked to the militia of Curicica, in the Southwest Zone of Rio, and to the Terceiro Comando Puro (TCP), which operates in the Maré and Pedreira complexes, in the North Zone. The investigations revealed an alliance between the two criminal groups, based on a non-aggression pact and operational cooperation to fight rival factions, especially the Comando Vermelho. The MPRJ points to Yuri Guimarães Soares, known as Lirow, as the link between the paramilitary structure and members of the TCP. The operation launched on Thursday carries out arrest warrants against the accused.
