Teacher convicted of sexual abuse of student is teaching at prison

Brittany Zamora, an American teacher sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexual abuse of a 13-year-old student, is now working as a tutor inside the Arizona State Prison where she is serving her sentence. At age 35, Zamora obtained her tutor certification in September 2021 and is authorized to teach academic subjects to other inmates. Arrested in 2018 when she was 27 and sentenced in July 2019, she has no disciplinary problems and assists the education team with group activities, according to the Arizona Department of Corrections.

Driver of hit-and-run in Albufeira remanded in custody

The 35-year-old driver who ran over 16 people in the Oura area, in Albufeira, was placed in preventive detention after judicial interrogation. The incident occurred around 3:00 AM on Tuesday on a nightlife street, leaving 16 injured, two in serious condition, including two GNR military officers. The driver, who was on vacation in the city, was arrested after fleeing from authorities and had an alcohol level of 1.29 g/l, having been charged with the crimes of aggravated assault, driving under the influence of alcohol, and dangerous driving.

GNR rescues weakened bird of prey
