List of convicted child sex offenders was accessed three times more than in 2022

The police and prosecutors from the Portuguese Public Ministry consulted the registry of convicted sex offenders against children more than 3700 times last year, a number three times higher than in 2022. At least 300 new names are added to the list every year, showing the continuous growth of this type of crime and the increasing use of this monitoring tool by authorities.
