Thieves break into museum in Spain and take 4 minutes to steal 3,000-year-old gold treasure

Thieves broke into the Villena Museum, in the province of Alicante, Spain, and stole the so-called Treasure of Villena, one of the most important sets of Bronze Age gold pieces in Europe, made up of approximately 60 items produced about 3,000 years ago. The alarm went off at 5:20 AM, and only four minutes later, at 5:24 AM, the criminals had already left the scene, in an action described as "super-fast and super-professional." Police are still conducting an inventory to determine exactly which objects were taken, since it is not yet known whether the entire treasure disappeared or whether only specific pieces were stolen.

Driver of hit-and-run in Albufeira remanded in custody

The 35-year-old driver who ran over 16 people in the Oura area, in Albufeira, was placed in preventive detention after judicial interrogation.
