Elevador da Glória: only four of the 16 compensations for fatal victims are settled almost a year later

Almost a year after the accident at the Elevador da Glória in Lisbon, only four of the 16 compensations for fatalities have been completed. The remaining ones are still under negotiation, dependent on additional documentation or following different legal routes. Regarding the injured, none yet have their clinical situation definitively consolidated, which delays the compensation process.

Driver of hit-and-run in Albufeira remanded in custody

The 35-year-old driver who ran over 16 people in the Oura area, in Albufeira, was placed in preventive detention after judicial interrogation. The incident occurred around 3:00 AM on Tuesday on a nightlife street, leaving 16 injured, two in serious condition, including two GNR military officers. GNR rescues weakened bird of prey
