More than 1,300 people are missing in Nepal and Tibet after heavy floods that have already left at least 168 dead. The flooding was caused by torrential rains that hit the region in recent days, triggering landslides and destroying entire communities. Rescue operations are underway but are hindered by the difficult geographical and climatic conditions of the Himalayan region.
