Euro falls but remains at the 1.16 dollar level

The euro fell yesterday against the dollar to around 1.1650 dollars, after the publication of inflation data in the United States above expectations, although it is expected that the Federal Reserve will not change interest rates in September. The European currency also depreciated against the yen, but gained value relative to the pound. The European Central Bank set the reference exchange rate at 1.1669 dollars.
