Drownings: when the numbers no longer allow speaking of fatality

Ninety-two people died from drowning in Portugal in the first seven months of this year, the highest number in the last decade for the same period, representing a 15% increase compared to the 80 deaths recorded until July 2025. The article warns that, given these figures, it is no longer enough to mourn each tragedy and that Portugal is beginning to have a serious problem with prevention and water safety.
