US Army allocates 1.89 billion euros for construction of small nuclear reactors

The U.S. Army announced it has awarded $2.2 billion (1.89 billion euros) to five manufacturers for the construction of approximately 20 next-generation small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs), an investment aimed at expanding the country's military nuclear energy capacity.
