Meta, the company that controls Facebook and Instagram, agreed to pay up to 18 billion dollars to settle a lawsuit in the United States that accused its platforms of being addictive for children and teenagers. The tech giant, led by Mark Zuckerberg, reached the multi-billion dollar agreement despite having rejected the accusations that it had violated child protection and privacy laws. The trial was considered one of the biggest lawsuits involving a technology company and its impact on minors.
