The Armed Forces are the public administration bodies that hire the most individual microentrepreneurs (MEIs) for small services. The Army, Navy, and Air Force account for 13.5% of the business closed through Contrata+Brasil, a digital platform launched by the government to streamline the hiring of individual microentrepreneurs across the country.

IHRU opens competitions for 77 affordable rental homes in 19 municipalities

The Instituto da Habitação e da Reabilitação Urbana (IHRU) has opened nine draw competitions for the allocation of 77 affordable rental housing units, under the Housing Rental Support Program (PAA). Applications run until September 17, 2026 and cover housing types from T0 to T6, distributed across 19 municipalities, including Lisbon, Porto, Aveiro, Beja, Évora, Setúbal, among others. Interested parties must first obtain the Application Registration Certificate on the PAA Platform and then submit their application through the IHRU Arrenda Platform.
